Effects of physical and chemical factors on the growth of Tetrahymena sp. isolate

Abstract

A Protozoa, Tetmhymena sp. was Isolated from domestic wastewater and identified by morphological characteristics. It was 50 to 70um in length, ovoidal shape, and dhided by binary fission. When Ercherchla coif was fed as a food microorganism, the optimal conditions for growth were 30 to 3S °C, pH 7 to 9 and 0.0S% NaQ. Tie growth was Inhibited by heavy metal loss; 0.3 mg of Cd++1l and 0.1 mg of Ca++/l. WW it was mot baited up to 0.7 mg of Zn+ +/I.
